BlueOS is the new Commodore operating environment, where we invite all lovers and enthusiasts of our classic computers to rediscover the feeling and revolutionary ideas that have made Commodore famous. In keeping with modern times, we stood up to the nostalgia of the blue tinted screen, and looked for a technology solution that would first of all ensure broad developer support and the availability of tools for all types of use.

BlueOS is the new Commodore operating environment, where we invite all lovers and enthusiasts of our classic computers to rediscover the feeling and revolutionary ideas that have made Commodore famous.
In keeping with modern times, we stood up to the nostalgia of the blue tinted screen, and looked for a technology solution that would first of all ensure broad developer support and the availability of tools for all types of use. We have therefore adopted Linux, and selected and tested the best productivity applications on our machines that are also available as free distribution.
In all this, aware that bringing a wide range of Commodorians back to talk to each other could only mean one thing: marrying the principles of the communities where the first Commodorians spreaded themselves evolving the Amiga and C64 apps, and keeping the concept of an information technology at the service of creatives as opposite of users at the service of an operating system framed in restricted rules. This community is of corse the open source world, so BlueOS was born as an open source project, happy to welcome everyone's contributions!

We have thought of specific BlueOS users, and selected for them the apps that we consider most productive and at the same time closest to that easy to learn - powerful to use experience typical of the many products that were born on AmigaOS.
During the installation phase, you will be asked to select one (but also more than one or all!) Among four profiles, and consequently specific pre-installed applications will be added.
